We are so happy to introduce you to Andrew, our 4th year optometric student from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR. Andrew is original from Pelican Rapids, MN and received is undergraduate degree from near by Concordia College in Moorhead. When asked why he decided to pursue optometry he said he enjoys being able to make an impact in someone’s life by working with them to address their health and vision concerns and protect their sight. This is truly something he is passionate about. In 2015-2016, he founded a vision care trip to Tanzania through the Pacifica SVOSH program knows as AMIGOS. This group has returned now 3 years in a row providing comprehensive exams to over 1,800 Tanzanians. While in optometry school Andrew has also been active with the American Optometric Student Association to advocate for patient health and safety. Currently he is serving as the organization’s 50th president. When he does have free time, Andrew enjoys snowboarding in Montana, spending time with family and friends, and getting out to lake. After graduation, Andrew has been accepted to an ocular disease residency program at OMNI Eye Services in New Jersey. We are excited to see what he future holds!
