As another year comes to a close, it’s natural to look back on the year. Sometimes we can gain insight into situations and how to handle them better moving forward. Other times, we look back and wonder what we were thinking. Other times still, we’re just ready to look to the future. Regardless of which way you’re looking, you definitely want to do it in style. Take a look at the 2018 eyewear trends we hope make an appearance in the new year:

Color Trends We Loved:
Combining texture and color was a big 2018 eyewear trend. This is particularly true for tortoise shell frames. Forget about those run-of-the mill brown tortoise shell specs you’re used to seeing. This year was all about blending fun colors with traditional patterns. The options are endless and we really hope this trend continues well into the future!

Practically Seeing:
This is the age of technology, people. Screen brightness, video games, office work, and most of our leisure time is spent looking at a screen, whether it’s our computers or our cell phones. 2018 was all about modernizing eyewear to adapt to all the backlight. We don’t imagine the use of electronics will lessen in the new year so we’re glad that this trend not only looks great, but protects your peepers for the long haul.

Thin Frames for the Win:
We personally love the throwback to the 90s with thin metal frames that this year brought us. We can only hope next year sees (pun intended) more of the same. These frames look great regardless of the shape, from round to aviator, we’re all about it.
