Contact Lens Fitting & Yearly Evaluation

Whether you are brand new to contact lens wear or have worn them for years, at PineCone Vision Center you will receive the best possible care at your evaluation. Our doctors utilize the latest in contact lens technology to determine what type of contact lens is best suited to meet your visual needs and give you the freedom from glasses you desire.

Contact lenses are medical devices, and as such increase your risk for eye disease. For this reason, we require our contact lens wearers to have a yearly eye health examination and contact lens evaluation to ensure their eyes remain healthy during contact lens wear. For more information, please see our contact lens policy under patient resources.

Multifocal Contact Lenses

Multifocal contact lenses provide an increased range of near focus which can decrease your dependence on reading glasses. Multifocal contacts come in a variety of styles including soft, toric, and gas permeable options. If you are tired of always keeping track of your reading glasses, contact us today to find out what type of multifocal contact lens you may be a candidate for.

Orthokeratology

Also known as corneal reshaping therapy, orthokeratology uses specially designed gas-permeable contact lenses that are slept in to mold the front surface of the cornea and correct your refractive error. This provides excellent visual correction during the daytime without having to wear a lens during the day. This is a great correction option for children, athletes, and those looking for non-surgical alternatives to LASIK. Contact our office today to find out if you are a candidate for orthokeratology.

Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses are large diameter gas permeable contact lenses specially designed to vault the entire cornea and rest on the white part of the eye. They are commonly used for the management of vision problems caused by keratoconus and other corneal irregularities. Scleral lenses can also be used for treating dry eye and other ocular surface diseases by creating a tear reservoir behind the lens to protect the cornea. Patients with mild to moderate dry eye who have become intolerant to soft contact lens wear can also benefit from scleral contact lens wear. Contact out office today to set up an evaluation with Dr. Fosso.

Myopia Management

Myopia management involves the use of specific designs of contact lenses, spectacles, and eye drops to help decrease the progression of a child’s nearsightedness. The optimal time for implementing myopia management is between 6 and 10 years old, but myopia can continue to progress into the early 20’s. If your child is nearsighted and has been increasing every year, or if other family members are highly nearsighted, contact our office today for a consultation with either Dr. Fosso or Dr. Simmons.
